Meet Federico Fuentes, Spanish Translator & Content Manager

Languages: English & Spanish

Hello! I’m Federico Fuentes, Spanish Translator and Content Manager for Translations in Motion. I’ve been an English and Spanish translator for over 10 years, two of which have been as a part of the Translations in Motion family. No matter the project, I give my full attention, providing the most researched and detail-oriented translations available.

Specializing in Both English and Spanish Translation

I specialize in English-to-Spanish and Spanish-to-English translation services. In fact, I’m one of the few translators to achieve ATA certification in both directions of my primary language pair.

My day-to-day consists of working on translation projects that often span several days or weeks. I also evaluate tests from applicants and help with assigning and managing projects when needed.

Delivering Superior Quality & Care

I do what it takes to deliver the best translations available for your business or personal needs. To start, I focus on thorough research of your subject. After translation, I proofread your project in detail until I reach a deliverable of the highest quality.

I love a challenge and enjoy coming up with creative solutions. Helping people understand each other in any situation gives me a great sense of accomplishment. My goal is to ensure you have the peace of mind that your final product is not only accurate but true to the tone and spirit of your source material. As a result, you’ll achieve your goals of connecting with diverse audiences.

Who Am I?

I was born and raised in Mexico City, but I’ve spent a considerable part of my life in The Woodlands, Texas, where my mother resides. I now live with my lovely wife, Maria Jose, and our two awesome cats, Fritz and Ina.

Now for Some Fun…

  • A few fun facts others may not know about me: Although it’s gross, I love “Dr. Pimple Popper.” I hate mayonnaise. I enjoy watching the “Classic Tetris World Championships” and “American Ninja Warrior.” I have a pretty large and unintentional collection of soccer shirts. And one of my lifelong dreams is to own a VW beetle from the 60s—sky blue, if at all possible.
  • Favorite book: This is a tough one for me, so categories it is. The best book I’ve ever read is “To the Lighthouse” by Virginia Woolf. The best book I wish I never read is “Disgrace” by J.M. Coetzee. The book that’s stayed with me the most is Dostoevsky’s “Brothers Karamazov,” and my favorite all-around book is “Nothing to Be Frightened Of” by Julian Barnes.
  • Favorite movie: I love movies. The one that’s impacted me the most is Fellini’s “8½.” Of course, I love “Spirited Away” and “Casablanca.” I also watch “Kirikou and the Sorceress” probably four times per year.
  • Favorite drink: Honestly, plain water, but I’m very particular about its taste.
  • Favorite music: If I had to choose a couple genres or artists to take with me to a deserted island, I’d take some Bach, Soda Stereo, Kings of Convenience, The Cure, The Killers and maybe The Flaming Lips.
  • Favorite travel spot: Houston, Texas, is the place that makes me the happiest with Rome, Italy being a close second.
  • Let me tell you a joke: I’m reading a book about anti-gravity—it’s impossible to put down. (I love dad jokes.)
